PS4KernelHooksHelper by 0x199 & How to Run PS4 Backup Games Guide
Since the initial Zecoxao Tutorial, 1.76 BurtE Guide and most recently the Video Guide by Modded_Warfare today PlayStation 4 developer @0x199 made available a noob-friendly Socat mod called PS4KernelHooksHelper via Twitter to easily send kernel_hooks to your PS4 and grab the logs alongside a condensed guide on SCE.Party for how to run PS4 backups games. :D

Download: PS4KernelHooksHelper.rar (87 KB)

To quote from his new PlayStation 4 hacking site SCE.Party: How to Run Backup Games

In this tutorial I will explain how to run backup games using tools to make the process easier.

First you will need five things:
  • 1.76 PS4
  • FileZilla installed on your PC
  • A backup of a game (you can find them here)
  • PS4KernelHooksHelper (you can find it here)
  • Local ELF loader
Now you have that ready, let's get started.

Preparing the PS4
  1. Load FTP + Debug Settings from a playground on your PS4.
  2. In FileZilla, go to the /data/ folder and make a new folder called CUSAXXXXX
  3. Put the backup game in the CUSAXXXXX folder.
  4. Reboot the PS4.
Loading the backup
  1. Load up your local ELF loader and let it get to stage 5.
  2. In your PS4KernelHooksHelper folder, run PS4KernelHooksHelper.bat
  3. In the dialog, type S and press enter.
  4. When it doesn't give you an error message, type L to grab the logs.
  5. When it says "succesfully started" in the logs at the very bottom, load up The Playroom.
All done! Your backup is now running on your 1.76 PS4.

Download: socat-windows-master.rar (1.7 MB) / NETCAT.rar (13 KB) / elf-loader-master.rar (82 KB)

To quote from BurtE on: How to play your game backups on retail 1.76!

Hi guys, Today I have a little tutorial for you 1.76 users shared by a friend of mine, in this tutorial you'll learn how to run you own game backups via The Playroom.

What you will require:
  • 1.76 console
  • socat
  • elf loader
  • cmd
  • filezilla
  • ftp payload
  • netcat
  • decrypted game modules of the game you're using
  • filesystem of the game you're using
  • kernel hooks patch
1. Replace the encrypted game modules with the decrypted modules
2. Turn on your PS4 and enable FTP Payload
3. Go to data and make a folder called CUSAXXXXX
4. Drag and drop the game filesystem that you're using with the decrypted modules into CUSAXXXXX
5. Once it has finished switch off console to clean memory
6. Switch on PS4
7. Start ELF loader on PC
8. Open cmd and cd to socat directory
9. Open the browser on PS4 and go to ELF loader
10. Once it has got to stage 5 and its stabilized then execute this command in your socat cmd window
Code:
socat -u FILE:kernel_hooks TCP:ps4ip:5054 (example socat -u FILE:kernel_hooks TCP:192.168.137.69:5054)
11. If it executes correctly without out of memory error then run listener with
Code:
netcat nc ps4ip 5088 (example nc 192.168.137.69 5088)
12. If a cmd window comes up and says started successfully at the bottom then minimize browser with ps button and run the playroom

Playing Minecraft Trial on a Retail PS4 (PoC) Guide by Zecoxao
Since the announcement earlier this week via Twitter, PlayStation 4 developer @zecoxao released a proof-of-concept (PoC) guide on playing the Minecraft Trial on a Retail PS4 console. :notworthy:

Additionally, he revealed the next game they're working on is P.T. (many may recall Playable Teaser was also decrypted, extracted and mined by PS4 devs) and even hinted that some people are working on PS4 homebrew also! :ninja:
